The safest home births begin with the honest question:
is this right for us?
homeOB is a physician consultation practice for families considering birth at home. We bring what American home birth has been missing — disciplined candidacy assessment, transparent safety criteria, and a coordinated, hospital-integrated team — so that the families who choose home birth are the families it serves well.
PHYSICIAN-DIRECTED · MIDWIFE-ATTENDED · HOSPITAL-INTEGRATED
Selection is the safety mechanism
In the countries where home birth outcomes rival hospital outcomes — the Netherlands, Ontario, British Columbia, the United Kingdom — the setting is not the secret. The selection is. Those systems decide carefully who is a candidate, re-verify that answer through pregnancy, and transfer early and smoothly when the answer changes.
That is the practice we run. We are not advocates for home birth. We are advocates for the right birth in the right place — and we will tell you plainly when that place is a hospital. That honesty is precisely why you can trust us when we say home is reasonable for you.
Is home birth right for us?
The candidacy question, answered with real numbers — including who home birth does not serve.

AssembleYour team
A vetted attending provider, doula, lactation support, and pediatric handoff — coordinated by a physician.
We lead with the data others avoid
In well-integrated systems with strict candidacy, planned home birth for low-risk women shows perinatal outcomes comparable to hospital birth, with substantially fewer interventions. In the fragmented American context, studies have found roughly one to two additional perinatal deaths per 1,000 planned home births — a small absolute number that is still real, and that concentrates among poor candidates and poorly integrated care.
Our entire practice exists to move your birth from the second statistic to the first.
